What BARION™ means?
Barion is an electronic payment service with which you can conveniently and securely pay by debit card or prepaid balance in webshops, mobile applications or for your friends.
The service provider - Barion Payment Ltd - is a legal e-money issuer under the supervision of the National Bank of Hungary; the number of its license is H-EN-I-1064/2013.
Pay conveniently by debit card
Registration is not required for debit card payment, you only need to give your debit card number, its expiration date, the CVC code on the back of the card and a used e-mail address.
However, if you register, you never have to type in you debit card number again at any Barion accepting place; your e-mail address and password will be enough for the payment. This is not only convenient, but also increases your safety!
You can use for payment your:
- Mastercard or Maestro debit card
- Visa or Electron debit card
- Amex debit card
Pay conveniently without debit card
If you do not have debit card, you an use your prepaid Barion balance for payments. You can charge it by transfer or deposit, and your friends or business partners can also send you money for this balance. In this case, you can pay by using your e-mail address and password.

Debit card payments do not have and cannot have any premium price! Registration, Barion mobile application, and money sending or receiving are all for free of charge, and these will remain free. There is no monthly fee!
Follow your buyings!
Using the Barion application, you can follow your payments on the web or on mobile. The free Barion wallet application shows all of your buyings immediately; you can see what you bought. You can also manage your Barion balance here, send or accept money as well.
Safety first
Barion servers are protected by Norton/Symantec/Verisign 256bites SSL encryption. Before payment, always check that you give the necessary debit card informations through the secure Barion server. Your browser shows in green when the owner of the payment page is identified as Barion Payment Inc [HU]:
Barion has the PCI DSS certificate required by debit card companies, so it is authorized to handle debit card data. Security of Barion servers are developed in accordance with the guidelines of the Hungarian National Bank.
